When you think of AI, everyone imagines super-advanced machines that will replace everyone’s work, but this technology is more frequent than many believe and is already in our daily life: you can get them in the voice assistant of a smartphone, automatic translations, internet search engines, and online shopping. Its reach is so broad that it is estimated that within five years it will generate more than 400 billion dollars, and grow by about 36% each year, according to a study by MarketsandMarkets.

And although AI has managed to almost perfectly replicate human intelligence in performing certain tasks, it still has some limitations: AI programs have a “specialized” intelligence, meaning they can only solve one problem and perform one task at a time; additionally, this is a very rigid intelligence since they are not able to think beyond their programming or “think outside the box”. Humans have “generalized” intelligence which serves problem-solving, abstract thinking, and critical judgment that will never cease to be a primary factor in the labor force.
So, we can say that although AI is already a crucial part of our lives and will always remain so, it is created by humans for the use of humans, and human judgment will always be relevant in its use, as well as in all tasks and sectors of the working world.
